Question

How do I make PSD files display as an image in folder

I am new to Photoshop and have a lot to learn. I have recently edited several photos, and the edited one shows up now as a PSD file, and not an image, making it hard to find if I am looking for it. How can I make it show as an image.  I am using Windows 10. Thanks for any advice!

If you are talking about thumbnails, you may need to install a third party thumbnail viewer.

PSD is the file type. You can save it as JPEG, TIFF, PNG as well.

To do that, after you have finished editing, flatten the layers, go to File>Save as, and select JPEG for the file type, if that is what you desire.

Note: JPEG does not preserve the individual layers, but PSD will. Since you are just starting out, you may wish to save in both file formats if you think that you may go back later for additional edits as you become more proficient. You can always delete unwanted files subsequently.
