How do I prevent the white screen flashs between the layers of my gif?

I have made a three layer gif and when viewing I'm getting white screen flash's showing between the layers.

I made one a few years ago and the transitions between the layers were smooth. No breaks or white flashes.

I must have forgotten the settings for making this gif.   What do I need to do to fix this problem?
