Question

How do I remove all stacks?

I created some stacks so that I could take a closer look at some of the visually similar photos and decide which ones I wanted to keep.  However, I can’t figure out how to examine the stacks as they just show the first photo (even after clicking on the first photo).

All I really want to do is remove the “stacks” designation, but the help for this indicates I must go to Layers/Smart Objects/Stack Mode/ and change to None.  I located Layers in the PE Editor, but it didn’t include anything about Smart Objects.

Needless to say, I am confused and don’t know what I did wrong.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like to be able to see and use all the Stack options one needs to go to View and check Details.

I’ve been playing around with stacks the last couple of days.   Yes, the unstack option was greyed out. I noted that this was in lite mode, not dark mode.   The image below sorta explains what I did to get the unstack option to not be greyed out:    I basically closed the organizer after the stack was created, and opened it back up, and everything (unstacking in particular) seems to be working just fine now.   No rhyme or reason to it.   I switched to dark mode to see if I could duplicate the unstack  optioned being greyed  out, and I could not duplicate it.

I think it may be a quirk of lite mode.

    Try the Organizer menu:

    View > Expand All Stacks

You can also all collapse stacks when finished.

You can use: Edit > Stack to choose Unstack

I was able to find the View>Expand All Stacks, but I could not locate the Edit>Stack to choose Unstack.  I also checked the Editor section to see if I could locate it there, but it was not there.

After I chose View>Expand All stacks, the system showed all the stacked photo sets.  I could only see and access the top photo in the stack, and I could not access any editing capabilities.

I am missing something “big”.  I know I am making it harder than it should be.

You can see all stacks in Organizer. By searching in All Media Go to:

    Find > All Stacks

You can then click on the right-pointing arrow icon to open individual stacks. Or choose:

    View > Expand All Stacks
