How Do I Stop Importing Pictures into Cloud? Part 2

Further to the Ian Julian's similar question from Nov 14, 2024 and Greg S earlier solution.   I have the same problem, "Do not sync media to the Adobe cloud" is checked on the import screen and I have looked at Edit/Preferences/Sync and the sync box is unchecked.  When I check picture location I assume this path means the Adobe location is in the cloud C:/Users/Georg/ONEDRIVE/........ as indicated by the "ONEDRIVE" term (is that correct?) however I have my pictures on my C:.  I am totally happy with my storage approach on the C: dr. and do not want or need to pay extra cloud fees.

Perhaps I have made a mistake some where, in any case, what else can I do or to correct to stop uploading to the cloud.

Thank you

George

(I sent this last night but it was undeliverable so I have tried again).

I'm installing PSE 2025.
I followed the link, and it is empty, so I think you are correct. It looks like I uploaded many of my pictures at least, to the cloud local drive, as you said. The upgrade to PSE 2025 is also an upgrade from Win 10 to Win 11 on a new laptop so I am not very familiar with any differences between Win 10/11. So, I'm looking at File Explorer, left most column where there are 3 sections. The first is the cloud section (identified by the cloud symbol), then a horizonal line, the second is "Desktop", some of my pictures are there (is that the "OneDrive local drive" you referred to?) and based on what you said, perhaps these are the ones being uploaded to the cloud. The third section is "This PC", where I want my files to be, some are there, for now I assume, these are not going to the cloud. That is my understanding of the situation, is it correct?. So, I will remove my pictures from section 2 above and place my misdirected pictures in the third section and see what happens.

What version of Elements are you using?

OneDrive has nothing to do with the Elements Cloud.  If your photos are stored in the OneDrive local folder, it is possible that they may be saved in the OneDrive Cloud.

If you click on this link, it should take you to the Elements Web, Media page.  Are any of your files uploaded there?
