How to add invisible/blank Unicode characters for text spacing and alignment in Photoshop Elements?

Hi everyone,

I create social media graphics in Photoshop Elements and often run into spacing issues with text layers. The built-in kerning and tracking controls are finicky, and sometimes I need to push text elements apart without adding visible characters.

I also want to create "invisible" text layers as placeholders or spacers in my templates, but PSE doesn't seem to accept pure blank spaces as valid text input.

Is there a free online tool that generates invisible/blank Unicode characters I can copy and paste directly into Photoshop Elements text boxes? Something browser-based with no downloads would be ideal.

Bonus if the same site has other text formatting tools too.

Hi lumos-ch, an actual Unicode blank character (rather than a regular space, which some fields strip) is the way to go here. I'm involved with TypeGleam, and its Invisible Text Generator has two options that match what you described: a zero-width character for hiding/joining text, and a "Blank (Braille Blank Character)" option that takes up visible space but looks empty - that second one should work as a spacer/placeholder even where PSE won't accept a plain blank. It's free, browser-based, and copy-paste, no downloads needed. The same site also has other text formatting generators (small caps, superscript, etc.) in case that's useful for the rest of your templates.

You may try doing this:
Win: Go to Edit > Preferences > Type (shortcut: Ctrl+K)
Deselect the below box:
