Question

How to edit an iPhone HEVC video to a H.264 video.

I wanted to Import some photos and videos from my wife's iPhone 13 into my Photoshop Elements 22 on my Windows 11 laptop.  The videos on her phone were HEVC and they will not Import into my PE22 and I get the following PE22 message, "The file is damaged or is in a format that cannot be included in Elements Organizer F:/Photos..._5572.MOV."  The "F:/Photos... " is my external HD where my PE22 Organizer and/or catalogue is.  I know how to change her phone's settings to that she does not get HEVC videos and HEIF photos, and have since changed those settings.  However, how can I change her HEVC videos on her iPhone to H.264 (or .MOV) and change her HEIF photos still on her phone to JPEG?  Seems there must be a way of doing this without using an app that I am not sure I can trust.

On her iPhone go to settings and choose the Photos App. Under the section Transfer to Mac or PC try setting to automatic - see image.

Thanks for your suggestion.  I already made that change to her iPhone after I found I could not Import her videos.  Now my problem is how to Import those videos that she took before I set her phone to "Automatic."  Any suggestions on how I can change those videos without downloading an app?

I’m not sure. PSE 2022 is now getting a little old and I’m not sure if PSE 2024 can always handle these files. Have you tried simply changing the file extension from MOV to MP4?
