I loaded PE 2023 yeaterday . It scanned my computer the showed not  only photo files and folders but my music folders as well. How do I get PE to not show the music files?  I clicked media files/ photos only but nothing happened.

Thanks

If you are talking about the folders in the My Folders panel on the left of the Organizer, this displays all of the folders on your computer.  You can't change that.  If you want to remove the music files from displaying in the grid, either do as I say previously - press Ctrl+3 - or delete the music from your catalog.

To delete the files from your catalog, do the following:

  • Press Shift+Ctrl+K.  This will bring up a Search by Filename box
  • Enter mp4 in the box and press Enter.  This will display all .mp4 files in your catalog.
  • If you don't have any mp4 video files in your catalog, press Ctrl+A.  This will select all of the files in the grid.
  • Press Delete.  This will bring up a message that asks if you want to delete the files from your hard drive.  Decline the option.
  • If you have mp4 video files in your catalog, you will have to select the music files manually before deleting them.
  • Alternatively, you could select, in the My Folders panel, each folder containing solely music mp4 files.  You could then press Ctrl+A to select all files in the folder, and then delete them.

Is that what you meant to say?  If you clicked on View>Media Files>Photos, all photos should have disappeared from view.

Toggle the view of music files by pressing Ctrl+3.
