How to import HEIF photo as JPEG?

My wife and I have iPhone 13's.  For years I have imported my photos and videos from my iPhone to Photoshop Elements 2022 on my Windows 11 laptop.  The photos on my iPhone are JPEG and the videos are H.264.  For the first time, I tried to import photos and videos from my wife's iPhone.  On her phone, the photos are HEIF and the videos are HEVC.  Her photos will import as HEIC, but they do not import as JPG (as I prefer).  Her videos won't import at all.  Photos from my iPhone import as JPG and the videos import as MOV.

My guess is that I need to change some settings in my wife's iPhone, but I'm 81 and almost no clue what I need to do. :-)))

Thanks, John.  I made the adjustments on my wife's iPhone and took some photos and videos, then imported them into my Photoshop Elements 2022.  Everything worked perfectly.

Before I made these changes, I had imported her photo as HEIC, but those videos will not import.  Do you have any idea how I could change the videos on her phone to H.264 or any other file name that would import to my PE2022?  Her HEVC videos will not import.

THANKS!
