How to import MP4 videos into Premiere elements 2024 Organiser

I cannot import MP4 video into PSE Organiser. The video plays ok on my PC so, presumably I have the right codec installed.

Can anyone help?

I have tried Handbrake but video quality poor. have alaso tried AVS Video Converter which was fine, but in both cases, there was no audio! I'm sure I can work arond this once I get the files into Premier elementsI
