I now believe that my 2026 Elements is defective. There are at least 3 faults compared to previous versions that I have.

Adobe prefers you put the plugins/filters into

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 26

You can also put the plugis/filters into

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2026\Plug-Ins

The preference (Edit>Preferences>Plug-Ins) to point to a plug-in folder from within the Photoshop Elements 2026 Editor doesn't seem to work on either the Windows or Mac side.
