So I have a Nikon D7100 and just returned from a Europe trip in which I shot a bunch of Raw photos and transferred them to my computer. Now when I try to open them in Photoshop Elements 8, it shows they are in a .NEF format and cannot be retrieved. Yikes! What now?
Unfortunately, the camera raw plug-in for PSE8 cannot be updated for the D7100 files. But you can batch convert a folder of NEF raw files into Adobe Raw (DNG) using the free converter App from the link below.
The DNG files will then work with PSE8.
Alternatively buy the upgrade from PSE8 to PSE 2018.
