How to select face in Perfect Portrait

OK I have a problem where the Perfect Portrait will not allow to select the face I need to adjust.

When I have a photo with multiple subjects how do I get it to select the correct person?

The problem with your photo is that your mother's face is turned almost 3/4.  The Perfect Portrait feature may not recognize it because of that.  Have you tried using the Enhance>Open Closed Eyes . . . tool?  There are sometimes differences in the face recognition.

I would also be interested in knowing if you get a different result with Elements 2025.  You can get a 7 day free trial.

I understand that you have privacy concerns about showing your family's faces on a public forum.  If you are willing to do so, you can send me the image in a private message and I will see if I can get any different result than you do.

If they are generally facing forward you can simply click on the face.   Detected faces will have a circle appear.  I would say this tool works better in PSE 2025-- the screenshots below are from version pse2025-- what version do you have?    ALSO: having a limited amount of RAM in your computer (Even now 4GB of ram, even 8GB of ram is now considered "limited"....

Screenshots really help to describe an issue-- please include one or two (not taken with you phone- they are often blurry and leave out important information.)

I did an experiment:  I couldn't get it to not work.

There does appear to an upper limit on the number of faces---I'm guessing it has to do with the amount of installed ram- and may not be based upon the size of your scratch disk.

Only upgraded to 2024 in August and Resources shouldnt be a problem (i9-9900K CPU, 32GB ram, 2TB SSD).

I believe there is a misunderstanding with my original question.

I'm trying to use the open closed eyes from this feature but it wont let me pick the subject.

The organiser idenifies two people in the photo but the editor only identifies one.

It always selects my son who has his eyes open and never my mother who has them shut.
