How to transfer organizer data to new iMac

I currently have PSE 2019 on an iMac I'm replacing with a new iMac. I want to install PSE 2023 on the new iMac and transfer ONLY the Organizer photos and tags to the new iMac and PSE 2023. Is there a way to do this?

OK. Now, I understand.

A backup that you create with Elements will only backup the catalog and media files (photos/videos) contained within the catalog.

Each version of Elements is entirely separate. So, if you purchased Elements 2023 as a prior user, you may have received an upgrade discount. But you don't need to install any of the Elements 2019 program files if you did so. The necessary Elements 2023 program files will be installed on your new Mac and the old catalog will be restored to your new computer. During the restore process, the catalog files will be updated to the new Elements 2023 database format.

I just found that I still have PSE 2014 files on my Mac. So I assume I can delete those files. I was going to wait to to upgrade to PSE 2023 until I got my new Mac and then install it without transferring PSE 2019. But are you recommending either installing 2023 on my current Mac and then transferring it all to my new one OR transferring 2019 to the new Mac and then updating to 2023? I hope I'm making sense. I apologize if I'm still not getting it. I do appreciate your help.

Sorry, but I don't understand what you are thinking. What else do you think there is in a backup besides your photos and tag information?

I obviously don't know enough about how it all works. I wanted to uninstall or delete the PSE 2019 application and whatever other PSE 2019 files exist rather than transfering them to the new mac but I didn't want to delete any of the photo tags. I'll look at my backups.

You should make a backup of your catalog using PSE 2019 on your old machine. The backup should be placed on an external drive. You can then restore the backup on your new machine, using PSE 2023. Your catalog will be converted automatically to work with your new machine and software.

Thanks for your reply. I'm thinking I don't wanted to transfer ALL of 2019 -just the Organizer pics and tags. I just want a clean version. I've had too many issues with previous versions.
