Question

How to view all images in nested Subfolders, like Lightroom????

I'm pulling my hair out with Mac Elements Organizer 2026!

The Organizer window has a MAJOR difference from LR, and that is that I can't select the PARENT FOLDER, and see the contents of ALL NESTED SUBFOLDERS containted within.

This makes viewing and organizing a complete PITA, as I can't just veiw my ENTIRE catalog of images, then make selections over that entire group of images.

I'm also missing the file count for each Folder.

Hope someone can help!

In the attached photo, I've selected Food and Cooking, and the Media window is blank rather than showing me the contents of all the nested folders; ie. bbqhq, coffee, etc.

You cannot select more than one folder in the Organizer.  There are a number of ways to do what you wish to do in the Organizer.   Perhaps the simplest would be to create an Album.  For example, create an Album called Food and Cooking and then place the contents of all of your nested folders into that album.  When you select the Food and Cooking Album, all of the photos in the nested sub-folders will appear.

If you need a more granular approach, use keyword tags to replicate your hierarchy of folders.  That way, you could have a keyword tag Category of Food and Cooking with sub-categories or simply tags for the named sub-folders.  You could then select the Category and all tags within the sub-category will appear in the grid.

Or you could just try a Search for "Food" and see what appears in the search results.  All images that have been smart-tagged with that word will appear.  Smart tagging via automatic media analysis can be surprisingly good (but it isn't perfect).

Thanks for the Reply, Greg. Unfortunately, running Albums provides nohwere near the functionality I was used to in LR.

The fast way, in LR, to see the ENTIRE contents within a Parent folder was straight-forward; simply enable the "View all sub-folders images" within that parent.

Can't be done in Elements...epic fail.
