Question

I'd like to create a program disc.

I just bought and successfully downloaded Photoshop Elements for the second time. I want to create a disc so if my laptop crashes again I'll be able to reinstall the program without paying for it again. How can I do this?

The most obvious route would be to copy the file you downloaded somewhere for safekeeping: burn to disc, store in Dropbox or on an external hard drive or whatever.

As a side note: was it necessary to purchase a 2nd copy (if that's what you did)? Are you aware that you can install the software on as many computers as you like, activate the software on a maximum of 2 of those installations and use one activated version at a time?

Yep, I'm aware. Something was corrupted in the installation files I had saved on my external hard drive. I had most of the files, but either not all of them were there or one was damaged somehow. I have since discovered that I may have been able to reinstall through Adobe from the original download link, but I was worried that whatever was corrupted was the cause of the problems I had on the computer to start with. The timing of my issues coincided with the beginning of the end... so I decided on a do-over.

Since I couldn't pinpoint the cause of my laptop's demise, I'm opting for backup overkill and hoping that this download was clean. Thanks for your response John Waller!
