I have a 2022 version that came with my PC. Is an upgrade adivsable or is it too buggy to attempt and obtaining a license of the standalone 2027 elements the wisest decision ?

The only “upgrade” available would be a price discount on the 2027 version.

You should see something like what you in the image above-- Photoshop elements serial numbers always begin with 1057.

Beginning with pse 2025 serial numbers went away- PSE 2025 and above are tied into the email address used in your Adobe account.

WHAT IF YOU DON’T SEE ANYTHING IN YOUR PRODUCTS (USINGTHE LINK PROVIDED)?
Then you are pretty much out of luck.

WHAT IF YOU LOOK AND SEE SOMETHING LIKE WHAT YOU SEE IN THE IMAGE ABOVE?
Then your are good, and will be offered a $20 discount during the checkout process as a registered user.

I’ve moved your post from Photoshop to Photoshop Elements for you.

PSE does not have a perpetual license. It has a 3-year license. PSE 2027 is the current version.

Also, sometimes Adobe has a Black Friday Sale that starts well before the day after Thanksgiving, so you might keep an eye out for that.
