I have a disc of PSE8 , but my new lap top doesn't have a disc drive.

. . .  or use a computer with a disc drive to copy the contents of your PSE 8 disc to a USB thumb drive.  You can then execute the setup from the thumb drive.

I have been using PSE8 and it satisfies all my requirements. Are you saying I need to buy the new version of PSE? I'm not risking my new lap top by downloading anything dangerous.

You would find it on the internet archive (google it) (use whatyou find at your own risk.

New laptop? Don't mess with PSE 8--- If it's a new MAC- throw the disc away.
