I just purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020 - PC/Mac Disc Version

Question

I just purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020 - PC/Mac Disc Version and then I realized that I bought the wrong version...I don't have a disc reader. I am seeing that there may be a possibility that I can simply take the serial number and enter it on the Adobe website and download it that way. Is that true?

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad PC and use Windows 10 Pro.

You can download Elements 2020 from this link.  The serial number from your boxed discs should work with it.  If not, you can always copy the disc to a USB thumb drive from a computer with a DVD reader and use the thumb drive to install on your discless computer.   If none of that works, you can buy an external DVD reader for about $20.
