Question

I want to reinstall PSE 2023 on my PC

I installed PSE 2023 on my PC but I didn't realise that I only had about one tenth of the photos in the PC. So now I am guessing that it would be best to uninstalle PSE, put the missing photos in, and then reinstall PSE 2023. So that the backup of the catalog will pick all of the files.

so will I be able to reinstall using the same key number.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.

You do have to tell organizer where to look for the images.   If you tell it  "look on drive c: for all images"  it will find all images- every single icon in every single program too.

Read this, this is what you need to do.

You do not need to uninstall the program before adding photos to your PC.  You can always import photos to your catalog at any time.  Nor do you need to backup the catalog until after you have completed your catalog.  Perhaps I am not understanding your question fully.  Please explain in more detail why only one tenth of your photos are currently stored on your computer, and how you plan to get the remainder onto your hard drive(s).

Thanks, Greg. I don't know why I don't have all the photo files. It's a new PC and the techie that installed it moved all the files from the c: drive of the old PC to onedrive, but for some reason they aren't there. I do have them all both on  the old c: drive and in a copy of whatever folder it is. And I 've got the backup from the old PC.

When I installed PSE on the new PC I didn't notice that most of the picture files were missing, until I realised that getting the catalog working was unusually quick.

I was planning to either remove all the files that are now on the new PC and then copy the whole set of picture folders and subfolders to the cloud (though I could put them on the new c: drive of course). And remove PSE and reinstall it from scratch. Not sure how I'm going to connect the catalog to the files in the cloud. I was planning to just give it a go and see what happens. by the sound of your reply, you might know the best way to attack the process.
