Import photo with organizer , from NAS. Files reject (json , jbf…)

Hello, I have Adobe Organizer 2024 and importing photos from a Synology NAS systematically blocks after loading a few hundred photos, with the message: incompatible files; json, jbf, css etc ... how to get around this problem? Deleting the files is not a good option, since photo recognition is linked to these files. Is it possible to force Organizer to import photo files by excluding the others

@r_chr3596 you still have not explained what you are trying to do. I am concerned that you are going to delete something that you may want to keep. The catalog folder is relatively small and there is no need to delete it until you fully understand the problem and hopefully we can provide you with a solution. Nothing you have told us so far suggests that a reinstall is necessary (although there is no harm in doing that other than wasting some time).

thanks, it's nice of you to ask. but at the moment I've given up a bit. I continually get the same error message that is automatically sent to adobe who doesn't give me any specific feedback in return. I think I'm going to reproduce most of my photos on an external hard drive in the hope of better operation with organizer. we'll see. have a nice day

As @Michael B. UK says, you are not giving us enough information about what you are trying to do. You mention that your .json files contain face recognition information that you don't want to lose. While that may be true, you cannot transfer .json files from one catalog to another unless, as Mick says, you are converting or restoring an existing catalog.

BTW, Adobe does not recommend using a NAS to store your photos. There will usually be performance problems.

I think there is a step missing in this import.

Did you upgrade from an earlier version?
If so, Organizer will just update your existing database and carry on as normal

If it's a clean install of Organizer 2024, just restore your back up, if you did make a backup.
You can import whole directories, and your folder structure will remain intact.
As I mentioned earlier, you can search for media files on your NAS and drag them all in in one go, this also preserves thier folder structure

Maybe I'll have to uninstall and then reinstall Organizer.

The existing catalog will also have to be deleted.

It would appear you are trying to import the catalog files via the Organizer media interface. You should only be importing media files, (Photos and Video). Try searching for photos on your NAS drive, once Windows has found all the photos, select them all, and then just drag and drop them into Organizer.

Another method, if you want Organizer to use a backed up catalog, is to move the Catalogs folder that is on your NAS drive to the default location on your PC, C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\Your catalog name and double click catalog.pse25db

You suggest I move the photos. So we can't import to a directory containing folders and subfolders?

It's weird, because the function exists and when I activate it it's the unrecognized files that block the import. Indeed a window opens with the message of non-compatible files json, css, etc.

I had started deleting files, I quickly stopped because they are necessary for metadata.

In fact, is there a "trick" to import by bypassing these blocking files?

Vous me suggérez de déplacer les photos . On ne peut donc pas faire une importation sur un répertoire contenant des dossier et sous dossiers ?
C’est bizarre , car la fonction existe et quand je l’actionne c’est les fichiers non reconnus qui bloquent l’importation. En effet une fenêtre s’ouvre avec le message de fichiers non compatibles json, css, etc
J’avais commencé à supprimer ds fichiers, je me suis vite arrêté car ils sont nécessaires pour les métadonnées.
En fait , ya t’il un «truc » pour faire l’importation en contournant ces fichiers bloquants ?
