Imported Keyword Tags

Have recently imported my pictures and an old PSE Version 8 catalog onto a new PC using PSE 2025. When importing the pictures into PSE 2025 I opted to also import the associated Keyword Tags. However when restoring the old catalog all of the associated tagging info appears to have been restored correctly and I want to delete the "Imported Keyword Tags". Can I do this without effecting any of the tagging imported with the old catalog?

See my reply to your other post.  I still don't understand what you did or in what order.  My current guess is that deleting the Imported Keyword Tags will not affect the correct keyword tags in the keyword tag hierarchy.  But I am assuming that you successfully restored the backup and then, because the files were missing, you imported the files from the unintended new location on the new computer to the catalog.  If that is what you did, you probably have duplicate photos in your catalog, with half of them being missing files.

I first imported all of my photo files from EHD to the Pictures folder on the C:\ drive. This worked fine and all are present. I subsequently loaded an old catalogue into Photoshop Elements 2025 and during this process was asked if I wished to import the keywords associated  with these photos and said "Yes",  although I now think this was the wrong answer as the tagging, people and places info was all held in the catalog. This has left me with the "Imported Keyword Tags" alongside those held in my old catalog, which I want to delete as long as it won't effect the tags brought in with the catalog. Do you think it is safe to do so?
