Importing from photoshop 12 to 15

It seems you have installed version 15 in the same computer than your previous version 12.

So:

- Your image files are still in the same location, same folders.

- Your albums and your organization, tags, captions, notes, version sets are stored in your old catalogs. Albums are just lists (like playlists for audio files) stored in your catalog. They only contain links to the items already in your catalog, they are not at all like folders.

- If you 'import' files again in version 15, you completely ignore what is in your catalog(s).

- There are always small differences in the structure (database) of catalogs for each version. The process to get a catalog in the new format from the old ones is called 'conversion'.

- When you install version 15, you get a message asking you to agree to 'convert' your catalogs. If you did not agree, you get an empty catalog. But don't worry, you can always 'convert' any older catalog from the menu File >> Manage catalogs. That is important if you have more than one catalog.
