importing images to elements 2026 produces two of each image

This is a problem that sometimes happens with iPhones, but it has also been reported with other cameras.  In the case of the iPhone, the Adobe Photo Downloader (APD) displays a duplicate folder hierarchy contained under the parent folder.  If you select the parent folder for download, a second set of images will be copied to the hard drive (with the copies having the same name but a numeric suffix).  The solution to this problem is to make sure only one hiearchy of folders is selected for import.

In my screenshot below, if I were to expand the Internal Storage folder, it would contain a duplicate of the main Apple iPhone folder.  Unchecking, either the parent folder or the Internal Storage folder will result in only a single file import.  If all boxes are checked, duplicate files will be imported.
