Importing PDF files and seeing nothing? PSE 14

PhotoShop Elements 14 stopped importing Adobe PDF files recently. Everything looks the same until the file opens and is just a transparent background. Can anyone offer advice on how to fix this?

I am copying this person's request because the same thing is now happening to me in PSE14... anyone know why?

Hi,

Would you please try opening this PDF in Acrobat to see if this is not a corrupted file? Let me know your findings.

Also provide the screenshot of what happens when you open it in PSE in case it opens fine in Acrobat.
