Importing Photos to PSE 2018 Problem plus 2 other PSE questions

Hi,

My problem is that I don't understand why my PSE 2018 imports duplicate photos each time. One photo is slightly blurry and the other is clearer. If I delete one photo, should I delete it from the hard drive as well? The better option is that it doesn't import it as duplicates. Also, at times the imports take a portion of the picture as well. It isn't really a thumbnail because it isn't the whole picture. For example, if I import a picture of people, it will import it twice, make a duplicate and take one of the people in the picture and show that too. Confusing.

Also, I have scanned documents as a jpeg file and they come out blurry in PSE 2018. I am trying to make a photobook that includes some documents. Any fix for that?

One last question. Is there a way to remove lines over text in a picture. If I use the spot healing tool, it removes the text along with the lines.

    For the two files which you think are supposedly duplicates, I request you to please check their name and location in Organizer.

    For this select this image, open Information panel, General Tab at the right hand side and check Location and Name fields for these duplicates. Are they the same?

    The files look identical but I looked at the names and they are slightly different although their location is the same. One ends in _thumb_1e5dc.jpg and the other ends in _mini_1e5dc.jpg.

    Do you know anything about why it imports a portion of a pix?

    Hi,

    Could you please share a screenshot of the folder from which you are trying to import your files? Also kindly share the location name.

    Additionally, please try opening the aforementioned pictures in your default OS Previewer. Do they come out fine there, without any part cut out?
