Importing photos to pse14

I am trying to import photos from my pc into pse14.  I have never had any trouble before but they are coming in as a "blank broken" image and when I try to edit I get this message.

Could not complete request because a SOFn, DQT,or DHT JPEG marker is missing before a JPEG SOS marker....

these photos were imported from my phone to my pc as I normally do..

please help..thanks

    Maybe you are importing files downloaded from FB or similar?

    I am importing from my Samsung camera,,into my pc by email..then trying to get them into pse,,I never had any problems before and I am not aware of having changed any settings.
