In Photo Shop Elements 18 the straightening tool will not autofill in the edges..Why?

Why does the straitening tool not fill in when the auto fill edges box is marked?

It was work great the other day so I must have hit some key !

Do you have Grow or Shrink selected in the Straighten Tool options?

either grow or Shrink did not work !

However, I got an answer from Adobe support.  He had me go into the Edit drop down.... Edit/Preferences/General/ Reset Preferences on next launch button.  Did that and when I got back into Photo Shop and tried the straightening tool with auto fill box marked it work just fine for either the grow or shrink options !!!
