In PSE 2020, I would like to create a "Place" tag but not use the map. Is this possible?

Here is my issue. I've got 70,000 photos, all of them tagged with people, places and events. But since I've been doing this for awhile, my places are free form text, which is useful - I have a separate "Place" tag for my house, and my city, even though both of those are in the same city.

Then I upgraded to PSE 2020. If I want to do something like that from now on, it seems it is pretty much impossible. Everything has to go through Mapbox and be associated with a pin placement. Is there anyway to bypass that?
