Install PSE on a new computer

Hello,

I am trying to install PSE on a new computer. I have the serial number from my adobe id. When I enter it, I get an error message, "the serial number you entered is not valid".

Do you have any advice about this error? Do I first need to uninstall the software from my old computer? Thank you.

UPDATE: I uninstalled the software from my old computer and I still have this same problem.

    Hi,

For version 7, the licencing was different between the CD version and the download version. The serial numbers for CD version would not work for the download version. It changed in later versions.

If you have the CD number, you will need the original CD. If you haven't a CD reader you might be able to get a friend with one, to copy the contents to a memory stick. You should be able to load PSE on your system from the memory stick.

Hi there, I have copied the files from my original version over to my new computer but I don't know how to install it from all these files.

    Hi,

Do you mean that you copied all of the files/folders on the CD to your new PC? Copying the installed files from one PC to another will not work.

If you have copied the CD to a memory stick, you could install straight from that.

Once you have got the folders & files on your new PC, you will probably see this sort of structure

    Adobe

         >Photoshop Elements 7.0

              >Adobe Photoshop Elements

In the last folder, you should see a file setup.exe - double click on that to start the install

    Good luck

    Hi,

Which operating system are you running on?

Which version of PSE are you trying to install?

Does your serial number begin with 1057 (don't quote your serial number here)?
