installation photoshop éléments 2020 sur version 12

hello, I wish you a good year 2020 !!!

Sorry I'm french with a poor english...

I have photoshop éléments 12 and I buyed this evening the 2020 version.

Must I uninstall the 12  version before installing 2020 version?

Can I find my usuel catalog in the 2020 version?

I don't want to loose mys tag( entries) on about 12000 photos !

If properly uninstalled with your operating system, yes.   I would do it after the catalog conversion just to be sure it works OK.

@kozlow67, as Peru Bob says, you do not need to uninstall Elements 12 before installing 2020.

 

When you install Elements 2020, it should automatically find your Elements 12 catalog and convert the catalog to the new version. Your old catalog will be renamed with a -1 suffix after the name and will continue to be usable in Elements 12.

Occassionally, the automatic conversion does not take place (usually through user error).  If that happens, you will still be able to convert the old catalog using the File>Manage Catalogs dialog.

an other question : can I uninstall then the 12th version  without problems with common files?

You do not need to uninstall Photoshop Elements 12.  It will have its own catalog and Photoshop Elements 2020 will have its own catalog.

There is a method to import the old catalog into the new one, but I don't use the Organizer, so I will leave it to others who do to offer help for that.
