Installing ACR6.5 in PSE9

Question

My hard drive died and so I am having to reinstal PSE9. I’ve got that installed but I’m having trouble getting ACR to work. PSE9 comes with ACR 6.1 but I need 6.3 or above (max 6.5).

When I instal the ACR plug-in it is not being picked up by PSE - it is still showing as 6.1, even if I use the ACR 18.2 or 14.5 installer from Camera Raw plug-in installer. I’ve have reinstalling PSE but am still struggling.

It was working perfectly well before the crash so not sure what the issue is now. I don’t want to be converting all my files to DNG.

Any tips out there for this?

Photoshop Elements 9 is too old to be compatible with Camera Raw 18.2 or 14.5.

PSE9 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.5. Later installers won’t do anything as you have discovered.
