Invalid Serial Number

I purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 several years ago, and am trying to load it on a new laptop. Apparently you have to "decode" the serial number from the other computer, but the support chat dosent know how. So the only place he could send me for help was here. Anyone know how to "unconnect" my license from the other machine so I can reload it?

    In Editor, go to the Help menu. Have a look if "Deactivate" is listed here.

    Note that your new computer has a modern operating system and this old version of PSE may not function. Try it - nothing to lose..
