Question

Invalid Serial Number when I tried to reinstall

I have an old old version of Photoshop Elements, it's version 7.  I recently had to reinstall windows so I downloaded the installer from my Adobe account and installed it.  But when I tried entering the serial number (copied directly from my adobe account), it says the number was invalid.  I've installed this version this way several times before without any issues, so I don't know what is different this time.  I  tried to connect to an agent through chat for an hour and nothing.  So what is going on here?  Before anybody mentions, it is a completly valid version, not purchased on ebay or amazon.  It came with my Wacom tablet.

So I finally got a hold of a chat agent, and the story is that since PSE 7 is so old that they basically got rid of its activation service.  So Adobe intentionally breaks old software to force people to buy new ones.  Total garbage.

Have you tried using the installer from the original disc that it was on?

I have not, I'm also not sure if I still have it.  If I can find it I'll give it a try.

You may need to use the pse 7 installer that came with your Wacom tablet for your serial number to work.

Did you actually connect with an Adobe agent or were you unable to connect?  Hours of operation outside of the US may be limited.

The chat box just sits there, last mesage was from auto bot saying sorry for the delay.  I am in the US though, but maybe they're operable on eastern time.  I'll try again tomorrow AM.
