Adobe says I can download vElements 2021 to upgrade v2020 for $59.99.
I can buy a brand new disc of Elements 2021 in the same Adobe box on Amazon for the same price (with free shipping).
It doesn't seem right that a loyal customer can get an upgrade for the same price anyone could buy new.
Am I looking a gift horse in the mouth?

If you follow the pricing of the software over time, you will see that Amazon and /or the big box stores may even beat Adobe's price periodically. Adobe markets the download option, Amazon offers a physical disk. According to your research the choice is yours for the same price. Both options are "buy new." Note that each version of the software is independent, meaning that a new version does not overwrite an older version. Both old & new versions can be on the same computer. With a little patience you may see "specials" before the Holidays,
esp. Black Friday. It is also anticipated that a new version of PSE will come to market this Fall.
