ISO safe 1-time conversion of wmv slideshow to Apple-supported format

I made a cute family vacation slideshow using PE10, but now cannot share the wmv file with family who use Apple products. I don't want to invest $$ in a converter, but neither do I want to risk a virus, a steep learning curve, or limited functionality from a free download. Can anyone suggest a save and convenient way to convert this file? thanks!

What version of windows are you using?

Do you have Windows Movie Maker?

A safe third party software is VLC Media Player which can convert the wmv to an mp4 which should play on an apple device.

Since my post, I added the jpg files to iCloud to share. I do have Windows Movie Maker and just added the wmv file, but I received an error message.

I will certainly try your recommended VLC software next time, unless Adobe or Microsoft offer a free converter solution in the meantime.
