Issue with organizer on PE 2018 images appearing with ?

I had this issue with the Previous program, and was hoping that the 2018 program had improved.  I don't need to enhance or recreate my images, I use the program to resize, crop and save them to print.  When I went through the process of 'reconnecting', as advised, it seem to allow me to open and edit but now is coming up with a new message - Could not save because the file is locked, you do not have ........ permissions..... - I am so frustrated.  Even 'saving as' doesn't work.  Can someone please convince me that this program was worth what I paid for it!  I have been on hold with the not customer service number on a daily basis for about 40 minutes and never have been able to get through to anyone to speak with. (1800 - 833 - 6687)

I would really appreciate the help.

BTW - I have the Mac  desktop - El Capitan OS.
