Question

Just purchased Elements 2025; unable to download photos from my Iphone to Elements

Yesterday I purchased the Photoshop Elements 2025, long time user. I attached the cable to download photos from my Iphone, and when I choose Import from Camera or Card reader, the source says None Detected.  I have tried this several times with no change. Please help me. Thank you.

What OS are you using?  And what model of iPhone?

Have you been able to see .heic files on your computer in the past?  If not, you should download the free Microsoft HEIF Image Extension from the Microsoft Store.  There is a separate Microsoft Extension for HEVC video files which costs $1 to download.

Have you tried a different cable and/or USB port to connect your phone to the computer?

Have you allowed the iPhone to trust your computer when you connect it?

Try to use the Windows Photo app to download the files from your phone.  Elements does not honor the iPhone Most Compatible setting.  So it will only import the format as originally taken (heic, jpeg or raw).

Does the computer recognize the phone when connected?

Can you view the files with Windows Explorer?

What file extension are they?

Thanks Peru Bob, I can't see the photos that are on my phone on my computer in windows Explorer. I changed the the format on the phone from High Efficiency to Most Compatible, and the phone said Most Compatible will always use JPEG. Is that what you meant? Again, thank you so much for your help. I just want to get those pictures on my phone off because I am out of room.
