printing text for heat transfer but font isnt large enough ... how can i make font larger and keep it that way?

This can be a bit tricky.  Some font's simply are not that great.  The max size of a font is 1296 points in PSE- you can just type that number into the fomt size box. 

Please post a screenshot ofwhatyou are having difficulty with.
