Layer Mask Contents Not Showing Up Always.

PSE v2024. Layer Mask contents not always showing up in the Layer Mask Thumbnail.

Shows up using Alt+Click on thumbnail but not in the Stack.

Anyone else experienced this or know how to resolve?

      IF THAT DONT WORK:  Open the editor preference file, choose "reset  preferences on next launch", close, and restart the editor. 

      The screenshot below is from pse 2024--- earlier versions have the same option- the preference panel in those versions will look a bit different.

      resetting your preferences fixes odd behavior, sometimes it just works, don't know why it works, it just does.
