Legacy geography tags in Photoshop Elements

I  used nested geography tags in the Organiser in Elements 9 to sort my non-digital photos by hand but discovered that in the next version this was not possible.because digital photos come with their own location inforrmation. I still have Elements 9 running on my Windows 11 machine but I am worried that I may not be able to use that in the future. Is there any way to reuse these tags sensibly in the latest version of Elements or has all the time I took to tag 100s of images been wasted ?

Thanks Glenn. I will look at that option.  It is not yet clear to me how Elements assigns tags to images and if Bridge can recover them after the Elements 9 app ceases to exist. Is the tag data written to the image file and can Bridge rebuild the tag structure (tags, subtags and subsubtags)?

Try adobe bridge, which is free.   If you want to edit raw versions that you have to pay for- but for basic organizing and working with metadata, I really think Adobe Bridge is the way to go.
