Linking older pse editor to new organiser

I have run PSE 11 alongside premier elements for a number of years and have just upgraded To premier elements 2024. With the new package comes organiser 2024 so I backed up My hold organiser and restored it onto the new one. The old PSE editor is working fine so I haven't updated that but the problem is I can't get the new organiser to recognise the old PSE 11. I have tried to add it to organiser but organiser says that I don't need to do this for an Adobe product because it does it automatically… except it doesn't.
Can anyone help with this please?

Correct answer Greg_S.

You cannot mix and match versions of Elements.

However, you can select files in the Elements 2024 Organizer, and click and drag them to the PSE 11 Editor.

John, I think you are correct that your edits in PSE 11 cannot be saved in a version set of your Organizer 2024 catalog.  But, if you make your main storage folder a watched folder, it will automatically find your edited files and import them into your Elements 2024 catalog.  You can then stack the files if you want.

I should aslo add the there have been a lot of developments and new features since Elements 11.  You can check them out with a free trial of PSE 2024.

And yes, the PSE 2024 Organizer is exactly the same as the one installed by PRE.  In fact, if you install PSE it will check to see if you already have the Organizer installed and will not install it again.

Thanks for replying Greg. I didn't think of doing that and it works to edit a photo but it looks like it's not going to update the organiser with any edits. I may well have to update the PSE version to make them both campatible I guess.  Can you tell me if the organiser version that comes with a new version of PSE is the same one which installed with Prem Elements? Although I wasn't expecting Organiser when I installed Prem I thought I may as well start using it and it found the backups of the old Organiser version (still installed) and converted them.

Regards

John

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
