Loss of basic fediting functions on upgrade from Elements 2021 to Elements 2025

When I updated my Elements 2021 to Elements 2025 I lost the ability to use the bacic Open closed eye enhancement function. In 2025, I tried to open closed on photo that had 4 persons. The automatic selection function will not let me select the only person whoes eyes are closed. (t will let me select from the three with open eyes.) I cannot discover a work around of the automatic selection function. Any advice?

The problem is with the angle of the face. I used the Perfect Portrait Guided Edit>Features to adjust the Face Tilt. Once this was accomplished, the face was recognized and the Open Closed Eyes feature worked:

Can you post the photo you are trying to edit. Also, try the open closed eye feature in the Perfect Portrait Guided Edit. You may have more success.

Thanks for replying. I attach the photo which I was unable to open the eyes with Elements 2025 0or 2026

I couldn't do it in photoshop. PS said the "face was obstructed" which of course means the glasses.

In the Open Closed Eyes dialog there is no gray circle around the person with closed eyes?

Correct. I have a MacBook Pro which I have not upgraded. (Not sure the new OS was an UPGRAGE. To Me it was a downgrade. ) I opened the photo closed eye enhancement on and the Adobe 2021 worked fine. Another program in Adobe 2025 and also in Adobe 2026 that refuses to work for me like the 2021 are the Combine Photos and Photomerge Group Shot... In Adobe 2021 one can use the Photomerge Compose program to extract an person or object from one photo then add to a different photo, resize and move. In the newer programs there is no move or resize function that I have found. Since I as the family photographer, add my self to the family photo, loss of this ability to resize and move is very annoying .
