Hello all,

I installed PSE 15 and uninstalled PSE 14 in this order.

How can I get access to my PSE 14 catalog in PSE 15? Or can I?

I did not check erase preferences when uninstalling PSE 14.

Thanks in advance,

Cheers,

The catalog is stored outside the program, it is never deleted when you uninstall, it is still there.

When you installed PSE15, the installation module must have found the current catalog and prompted you to convert it. If you missed that opportunity, a new empty PSE15 catalog was created. If you agreed, the PSE14 catalog info was copied into a new PSE15 catalog with the same name. The PSE14 catalog (and catalog folder name) was renamed with a -1 suffix (no other change).

The best way to search for that catalog folder is to do a search from your OS (explorer or finder) for a file named 'catalog.pse14db'. You may have several versions. The folder containing those database files are PSE14 catalogs.

The catalog folders may be stored in default location (hidden folders by default, you may have to set your explorer to show hidden files and folders); they can be stored on custom location on your internal or external drives.

If you did not agree to the conversion, you can still use the menu File >> Manage catalogs and press the 'Convert' button. This will show you the list of avalailble catalogs on your computer. You can also browse to the found location; there is a checkbox to also show already converted catalogs.

I did not check erase preferences when uninstalling PSE 14.

The catalog folder has nothing to do with the preferences, no worry.

    Dear Michel,

Thank you for your correct answer.

Actually when I installed PSE 15 I did not get or did not see the prompt for converting the catalog.

But when I wen into Catalog Management and clicked on Conversion, I did get my PSE 14 catalog in the list and was able to convert it to PSE15.

Phew, thankfully got it back. I had a backup but not updated since I did some significant work to update my catalog so I saved a good deal of time.

    Thanks again!
