Question

Majority of Elements 11 missing since recent Windows 10 update.

Hi there. Sorry but I'm not very good at forums and this is the first time I have ever been on one.

My problem is Windows 10 did some kind of a major update recently to my computer. Following this Elements 11 all but disappeared from my computer and I can now only find part of this programme by opening a raw image. The majority of the programme is now missing and things such as 'guided' and 'expert' are no longer available.

I have tried to re-install the Elements 11 disk but this just keeps going round and round without installing until my computer eventually ejects it and the situation remains the same. I am almost certain it was the Windows update that caused this problem.

I would really appreciate any advice anyone can give on this matter please. I am reluctant to delete the programme entirely and try to re-install it as otherwise I wouldn't have access to things such as this forum etc. for help if this did not work. At least I still have part of the programme working at this time.

Sorry if this is a really simple matter to fix or if this matter has been discussed previously on the forum. Thank you for reading this question.

Last night a Windows 10 Update was requested and I ran it.  This morning Adobe Photoshop Elements (2019 version) was gone!  I had to buy a new version of Adobe Photoshop Elements (2022 version).  I feel so sorry for anyone who has this happen and can't afford to buy another version of Adobe Photoshop Elements.  It cost me $107 for the simplest version.  This is so sad during these days of inflation.  Anyone who is on a fixed income or low income that cannot immediately buy a new version has to be without their images except through Photo.  I am amazed that this sort of thing can happen so suddenly and without any warning.

An idea that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10... works for some, not for others

-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window

-or Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL Windows permissions may help... says Encore, but sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account)

    -or more on permissions https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2293598

NOTE - Win10 anniversary update version 1607 has caused MAJOR problems with old programs, so the above may not work

    Hi There.

Many thanks for that answer. I will give it a try.

    Dave,

This seems to be an issue with the latest Windows 10 Creator release. No one will admit it but several others are reporting an issue. See my thread 'Windows 10 and PSE11'. I would like to know if PSE 15 users are having an issue as that seems to be the only path to a usable photo editor.
