media analysis problems

I migrated from Photoshop 10 on a windows 7 platform to PS Elements 19 on a new windows 10 platform. All my pictures - over 42000 - and my catalog were copied from the old machine to the new one. When using the old PS10 all my photos were analyzed for blurriness etc and each photo was tagged accordingly. In PS19 none of this information appears on each photo. In PS19 I cannot get this same feature to work.  Has it been eliminated? If it is still available, how does one get it started?

That type of media analysis has been dropped  a few years ago. Nobody did use it and at that time it created other big issues.

As Michel says. There was some limited usage e.g. with smart clips/audio in Premiere Elements but in most cases it created lots of tags which were not universally liked. In the latest version PSE 2019, you will see from preferences that media analysis is now used for auto-creations and smart tags.

Just for laughs, I did a search for "blur" in my 2019 catalog.  It returned thousands of images.  Although I could not find a smart tag relevant to this search, it looks like the old analysis algorithms may still be at play.

Now I'm real curious. I now have additional questions: 1) How do you search for "blur" in the catalog 2) Do you think I should create a new catalog, now that I'm on PS19 - I just used the old catalog from PS10 and 3) how does one 'start' media analysis.

Many thanks for all the replies so far
