Media Pending in Photoshop Elements 2019

Dear all,

I am a new user of PE 2019, using Windows 10.

After importing videos (mainly taken on an iphone) I do not see any previews. If I try to play the vids I get a "media pending" message on the screen. However the vids can be played when starting them from the windows explorer, so I assume they are not corrupted.

Can someone help?

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Elements does not support HEIC/HEVC formats in windows. When you import a video, it is by default getting imported in HEVC format as per your phone settings. However, there is an alternative to play iPhone videos in Windows.

    Nidhi - Thank you for addressing this issue.

    Do you have any information on the possibility of Adobe supporting this file format on Windows?

    I was unable to download my video files from my iPhone using the suggested workaround settings so I now have a large quantity of files of this format and expect more in the future.   These files all play fine with the out of the box Windows media player on windows 10.

    Is a 3rd party tool necessary for windows users to transform these formats to make them usable in Adobe Premiere Elements 2019?

    Are you using the Organizer's Import from Camera or Card Reader option to download the videos?  I record photos and videos on my iPhone X using HEIC/HEVC codecs and have no problem viewing either in the Organizer when downloading via the Adobe Photo Downloader.  As I understand it, Apple converts the files automatically when downloading to an incompatible OS.

    Along with media size and count, could you please share the format type and the exact steps you are performing. Also, are you in Organizer or Premiere elements?

    These are all small videos taken with an iPhone. File type is MOV. Trying to start from organizer.

    Hi,

    This message usually comes when the media size is too large. Could you please share the file size which is giving this message on opening, also share the media count currently opened?

    I would suggest to split the video in to more manageable pieces.
