missing files

I download photos to my computer then when I go back later it says files are missing no one else touches my computer why does it lose my photos???

From sd card. My old pics from 3 yrs ago still are fine but some of the

new one seem to vanish comes up missing file

Did you save them on your hard drive or just import them to the organizer, in which case they would not have been saved.
