Missing thumbnails

I recently installed elements 15 on my Mac OS Sierra.  It happily and correctly incorporated my previous catalogues (elements 13), but when I tried to upload new photos, whether from file or from the camera the thumbnails would, not display the picture, only the hourglass icon.  When I zoomed to the max the picture showed correctly, and it also showed correctly in the editor, but not in the organizer.  any ideas as to what I need to do to correct this?

    Hi,

    Please select all such images having hourglass , right click on them and select Update Thumbnails for Selected Items. This should set the thumbnails right.
