Move Tool Issues in PSE 2026

I updated my Macbook Air and my PSE 2020 would not even open.
I bought/upgraded to PSE 2026 and it’s been trouble ever since. When I try to resize an element it takes a long while of waiting for a dialogue box to come up. During this time everything is frozen, I can do NOTHING else in the program. If the element is still not the correct size I go through the entire process yet again. Over and over and over. I wait and wait and wait…. Something that should take less then a minute can take more then 5 and I’m ready to trash it all. SOOoooo frustrated!
This is only one of the many problems I’m having in this version, but the most troublesome…. I’m very unhappy. Please help!

If in the the Photoshop Elements 2026 Editor you post the contents of Help>System Info, we might see something from that.

One thing i can suggest to try is a PSE 2026 preference setting that can be done by going to

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2026 Editor>Settings>Performance and under Use Graphics Processor

click Advanced Settings then in the next dialog check GPU Compositing and restart the Photoshop Elements Editor and see if that makes any difference.

Thanks so much. Sadly, I had been advised to do that previously, but I followed your instructions again now i see that yes, that was checked. And it has not worked. When I did it, though I didn’t restart, I closed down and re-opened, would that make a difference?
