Moving from Windows to MAC
I have been running Photoshop Elements 9 on a Windows PC running Windows 10. I have three catalogs. I would like to move to PE 2019 on a MAC. After reading several posts here and elsewhere I did the following:
- Ran repair and optimize on the catalogs using PE 9. No errors were found.
- Loaded PE 2019 on the Windows PC.
- Converted the catalogs.
- Backed up the three catalogs using PE2019
- Loaded PE 2019 on the MAC
- Restored the catalogs to the default location.
Everything seemed fine at first, but went bad. I was navigating in the folder view in PE 2019 on the MAC. I noticed that some how PE thought the media files had moved to a folder tree with a root name something like Macintosh Snap-xxxxx and then one with a volume name including the word "Time Machine". The files themself seem to be in their original location, but PE thinks they moved. Naturally, PE can't find them when I try to use the file.
What happened?
Is it an interaction between PE and Time Machine? How are the links in the PE database changing on their own?
How do I accomplish this move from Windows to Mac?
Thank You!
